Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition: expansion, upgrade and Legends explained

PlayStation separates three things: Atsu’s base campaign, Legends co-op, and the Complete Edition additions. Echoes of Sekigahara is a story expansion; Most Wanted is a combat survival mode. Both are included with Complete Edition or its upgrade. The listing dates these additions to October 1, 2026, via patch 2.0 or later.

The publisher describes Legends as a free update for existing owners, with online co-op for two to four players. Online play requires PlayStation Plus. Buying an expansion and meeting an online-service requirement are different decisions. Check both before organizing a group session.

First check which edition is in your library. Then decide what you actually want to play next: continue the campaign, join friends, or try the paid additions when available. Compare the upgrade contents with your ownership before purchasing another full edition. A store showing an upgrade does not mean the base campaign has stopped working.

Start by choosing between a solo story session and co-op with friends. They serve different moods. If you choose the campaign, let the opening introduce its systems before planning a completion checklist. If you choose group play, agree who is joining and which activity everyone wants to try.

A product can be on sale before every listed addition becomes available. Read the availability footnote as well as the product title. Leave room for a download and patch when making plans, and recheck the store if the schedule changes. Calendar reminders do not update themselves.
